Despite the gravity of the context and the pressing questioning of his armed interlocutor, BerryMan seems to have no qualms about regularly bringing up the theme of homemade jams.
The artificial intelligence behind these dialogues?
Some rumors suggested that the writing of the game’s texts had been carried out by artificial intelligence (AI), which may have caused these incongruous situations and somewhat inappropriate dialogues. However, Jacob Navok, CEO of Genvid Entertainment, the company responsible for the title, quickly sought to quell speculation. He stated on Twitter: “Every word of Ascension was written by real people”, emphasizing the presence of authors from prestigious backgrounds such as Telltale Games and Pixar.
Past experiments with automated writing
Navok also admitted that his company had previously attempted to use AI-based writing systems in the past, notably in 2021. However, their trials did not yield the expected results, and the texts produced were far from meeting narrative standards. A comparison was even made with the continuous broadcast of the series Seinfeld on Twitch TV, revealing a mediocre level of literary quality.
